JIMMIE + MARTIN = INNOVATION

While searching for new concepts in furniture design, I came across design duo Jimmie Karlsson and Martin Nilhmar, together they founded Jimmie Martin, a British based, Swedish born design studio that creates eclectic one-off furniture pieces.

Jimmie Martin reflects the emerging change and opposing factors that influence and challenge today’s designers. The mixture of old and new has long being tried but only few have been successful in producing pieces that are both innovating and timeless. In my humble opinion, Jimmie Martin effectively embraces the nostalgia of the old with the modern and sexy forms of the 21st century; they became successful in designing pieces that combine the quirky and decadent with the theatrical and urban. Each one of them makes a statement… So hard to be ignored!

Take a closer look at Jimmie Martin.

YELLOW FEVER!!!

It is no secret why design forecaster Li Elderkoot called yellow the new pink. Its intensity brightens any space and any heart, it is often used to stimulate imagination and creativeness, the perfect combination of gray for interiors. We will be seeing more and more of this new trend in all design areas.

A day through Jonathan Adler's work...

There's something about Jonathan Adler that captivates me.

His fresh and organic take on design keeps his work surreal and unique. Vibrant colors fill his stores translating into emotions hard to ignore; to me, visiting one of them is a pleasure and an inspiration, from his unique pottery, modern sofas and intricate textures and patterns which I find truly rewarding and refreshing.

As his manifesto clearly states " ... minimalism is a bummer" simply the best!
